about

This is a song that sums up how I felt during the first lock down from Covid 19. I wrote this as song of optimism and hope in March of 2020 and began production in approximately December of 2020.

The demo is dramatically different but, obviously it served it's purpose as an excellent place holder to the final idea.

I began recording the demo at my home in Kitchener, Ontario and eventually took it to my friend, Jonathan Sauder's brand new studio in Wellesley, Ontario to record the bed tracks. This song actually signifies the studio's baptism into music and I couldn't be happier. I eventually ended up recording some of the lead guitar, piano, sitar and most of the vocals at Ryan Brohman's new home studio in Port Burwell, Ontario.

I am delighted to have had my best friends on this track as it served it's over all purpose, it gave us hope and optimism. I hope that it makes you feel that way as well.

lyrics

I feel trapped
But I know it won't last
You've gotta get outside, and dream those blues away

I want to go
To a place no one knows
And tell myself "it's gunna be okay"

How can I help you?
Let me sing a song or two
What can I do for you, if you haven't got a clue?

I'll be there, you know I care

These holy notes are grown on seeds of hope
Don't be afraid, 'cos it'll be okay
Because the setting sun is someone's brand new day

Friends and foes (friends and foes)
They come and go (come and go)
You just can't look down on anyone today

God only knows (only knows)
The life we chose (life we chose)
You can't get by if you give your time to waste

How can I help you?
Let me sing a song or two
What can I do for you, if you haven't got a clue?

I'll be there, you know I care

These holy notes are grown on seeds of hope
Don't be afraid, 'cos it'll be okay
Because the setting sun is someone's brand new day

Ahh Ahh Ahh (new day new day) x 4

How can I help you?
Let me sing a song or two
What can I do for you, if you haven't got a clue?

These holy notes are grown on seeds of hope
Don't be afraid, 'cos it'll be okay
Because the setting sun is someone's brand new day

Because the setting sun is someone's brand new day

Because the setting sun is someone's brand new day
